The Mysterious “Tapping” Spirit
The Hiawatha Trail tunnel that is mentioned in Suzanne Giesemann’s book, ‘Wolf’s Message’
In October of 2022, I started getting this persistent tapping/muscle spasm on my left forearm during quiet moments of meditating or reading books. Getting a tapping sensation from spirit wasn’t exactly new to me, though. My Dad in spirit, had given me the sensation of being tapped on each shoulder as a way of validating our connection and communication, after we connected shortly after his passing. I’d also gotten “tapped” on my shoulder previously by my spirit guides to get my attention. I came to know this as my doorbell for spirit. However, this time was a bit different.
I intentionally connected with my Dad or guides to try to see if they were the ones trying to get my attention, but nothing came through that was that significant and the tapping persisted, so I concluded it was not from them. Although I had been doing successful evidential mediumship readings at that point for others, but still a novice medium, I hadn’t experienced a spirit trying to get my attention outside of the reading before, other than the spirits that were for me (my guides, my Dad, my Grandma). I was finding it hard to be purely neutral when getting “tapped,” because I would get so curious about who it could be or what the message was. My mentor, Beverly Belling, told me that my assumptions about who it was, was restricting my ability to perceive what information could come through. She advised me to open my perceptions of the possibilities when attempting to connect to who the mysterious “tapper” was.
Try as I might, I couldn’t get my brain to let go of it’s limitations of who it could be when attempting to connect to this “tapper,” so I decided to try another way of uncovering who this was. I decided to ask the” tapping” spirit to send me a message via the first YouTube video that popped up in my feed. I pulled up my YouTube feed with anticipation, and saw a video where Suzanne Giesemann, a medium whom I follow, shares about how she was persistently getting this tingling on her arm, and as experienced as she was, when she asked who it was or what the message was, she wasn't getting anything. After watching the video, I was thinking, ok yes, this message is definitely from this tapping spirit, because she is describing a very similar situation. It is later revealed in the video that the tingling was coming from Suzanne’s step-daughter who passed by being struck by lightning. Her step-daughter had come through many times before, but this time surprised Suzanne because her step-daughter’s energy didn't feel the same way as it had before. Her main message to Suzanne was that "she is the light" and that "we are all the light." (this is the link to that video https://youtu.be/AeLZaXZodOo). I wasn't sure what to take away from that message other than whatever wants my attention is “of the light.” It had me thinking though, was it someone obvious, like she encountered?
A day later, I did a mediumship practice exchange with a fellow student, and when I was the sitter I asked her to tune into whoever was tapping me on the left forearm. In the reading, she described an older man whom I didn't recognize as any of my relatives, and that he was following me around my house and trying to get my attention. She shared the name he shared with her: “Frank.” The only Frank I knew in spirit was my good friend Ashley’s father, who had died on a biking trail nearby in a tragic accident. I didn't think much of it, since at that point, I thought, it's unlikely that my friend's Dad is trying to get my attention.
Since I was still perplexed, I asked the spirit to show me another video that would have a message for me related to this (after all, it seemed to work well the first time LOL!). This time, the video is Suzanne G's "Heart Gifts Presentation" where she shares about a spirit she encountered named Wolf, who was the deceased son of two clients she had read for. He became somewhat of a guide for her, and she talks about the journey of being guided by him through all these synchronicities. He was a spirit who had connections to other worlds and had a fascination for sacred geometry in life and had many drawings showcasing it. The video/presentation was a summary of her book, ‘Wolf’s Message,’ that she had written. It was a truly amazing story. (Here's the link to that one https://youtu.be/zJeLPy22feI)
Although that video was a beautiful story, I had no idea how it related to the spirit that was tapping me, until the next morning. I met up for coffee with a woman named Kelsy, who lives in my town and we know several people in common. We chit chat to get to know one another and she randomly brings up the book, ‘Wolf's Message’, and asked if I had read it? Astounded, I asked if it was by Suzanne Giesemann? She said yes!
I got chills up and down my spine. I knew this wasn't a coincidence, but a sign for me. I told her about the mysterious tapping from a spirit, and how I had just been guided by the spirit to watch a YouTube video where Suzanne talked about her book, Wolf’s Message, and all the signs and circumstances that led up to that, including the reading exchange where the student medium heard the Spirit mention their name was “Frank.” Kelsy agreed, this was synchronistic, and felt also that we were guided to speak that day. After hearing the name Frank, she explained that in the book Suzanne talks about the Hiawatha Trail’s tunnel being like what people see in their near-death experiences, when they describe the portal to heaven. We both acknowledged that our mutual friend's Dad, Frank, had died on the Hiawatha Biking Trail in that tunnel that Suzanne was speaking about in her book. Chills were running up and down our spines with that acknowledgement.
After these signs and synchronicities, I decided it very well might be my friend’s Dad, Frank, trying to get my attention after all. I intentionally connected with him in a reading by myself to see if he had anything he was trying to communicate. In this reading, he shared that he was trying to connect with his daughter and my friend, Ashley, and that she was going through a hard time. I took those notes down and then just kind of let it be. I wasn't sure my friend was ready to hear from her Dad in spirit since she was religious and she hadn’t expressed interest in talking with me about this kind of stuff before. I’m very careful about respecting people’s boundaries and not wanting to be in people’s face about this stuff if they aren’t ready for it or if it doesn’t align with their belief systems.
The next week my friend Ashley texted me saying she just talked to the mutual friend, Kelsy, who who had brought up the Wolf's Message book. She said Kelsy told her about my conversation with her and about all the synchronicities potentially pointing to her Dad in spirit. I confirmed and sent her a photo of my notes from connecting with her Dad. She shared with me that she actually had been struggling a bit personally and did want to connect with her Dad. So much so, that she had actually scheduled her first mediumship reading with someone her friend had used.
Ashley ended up asking me for a reading as well. I acknowledged that since I knew a lot of things about her Dad already, there might not be as many validating details, but told her we would see what came through.
Her Dad came through, in the reading, and it was very helpful and validating for her. We also ended up connecting with her daughter that she lost at birth, and I wasn’t aware of the details surrounding that, so that reading had even more validating details that were helpful and healing for Ashley.
This whole experience felt magical at every turn. I felt relieved to solve the mystery of who this spirit was, (the tapping on my forearm ceased after that), but I also felt in awe of how spirit would go to such great lengths to get through to their loved ones through a string of signs and synchronicities. I felt honored to be the go-between, between a daughter and her father and baby in spirit. It was also an epiphany for me that spirit drop-ins won't be just for me. It could be for someone I'm connected to or will encounter in the future.
